What is Travel Soccer?
NSSC participates in the Illowa League. We play 8 games over a 12 week timeframe in the greater Quad Cities area. 75% of games are typically in the Quad Cities, with potential for a game or two as far out as Freeport, IL, Dubuque, Macomb or Muscatine. We will play against other local teams of varying degrees of competitiveness.
Should I tryout?
YES! If you think you are interested then tryout. There is no obligation incurred from a tryout. It is a chance to compare your skills to others that are interested in playing.
But I’ve only played Dad’s Club, am I good enough?
Travel soccer is a natural progression from Dad’s Club. If you are in decent conditioning and have a good base of skills, chances are you’re ready for travel soccer.
Isn’t travel soccer about being ultra competitive?
No. It’s a chance to improve your soccer game and have fun. The focus is on development and enjoyment of the game, not so much on the competitiveness.
